The image of flowers and vase are a finger painting by an eight year old child. Her mother wanted to preserve the childs artwork for years to come. Now, uniquely matted, framed and preserved it can be enjoyed now and for years to come. This is double matted yet has three (3) colors (yellow, green, purple) involved due to the special mat design. This
child's
artwork is a combination of finger painting and paper
pieces. The double mat with designer mat cuts help draw the eye
to the artwork in
the center not the frame. We imitated the artwork
shapes in the mat. The colors of the mat were also chosen to pull
out the
majority of the colors
from the child's work. This design is only one sample of many on this page that show off our specialty of designer mat cuts. |
This artwork was done by a local Maine artist, Zoo Cain. He works with wood to create sculptures. They are then photographed into prints. This print was matted with multi colors to help draw out the multiple colors in the print. We cut the octagon mat to accentuate the circle. This is an oil
painting of a childhood camp and beach. It is a replica of a
photograph. The mat cuts as window on the right side help pull out the windows in the house which draw your eye to the center of the framed project. The color choices draw the colors from the trees behind the house. The customer loved the finished piece and so did her mother who spent many summers at this camp. |
